Minor & Associates, LLC, established in 2004, is a Homeland Security and Safety consulting firm with several divisions. The company was founded by retired Fire Chief Winston L. Minor, serving over 30 years in the Fire Prevention Services to date and 29 years with the Atlanta Fire Department. Chief Minor was appointed as the Atlanta Fire Chief by the Former Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell in 1995. He was unanimously re-confirmed for a second term on 1998 and retired in 2003. Chief Minor has managed budgets of over 60 million dollars, commanded 900 employees and 35 fire stations throughout the 133-mile service area including providing protection for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, “The World's Busiest Airport.”
As the Atlanta Fire Chief, Winston Minor acquired international recognition for emergency response command and was invited to lecture in Johannesburg, South Africa, Queenstown, New Zealand, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, and various other cities within the United States. His topics have included the Olympics, terrorism, first responders, fire prevention, and public education. He also established the Atlanta Fire Department’s Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago Foreign Exchange Program.
